Tahoe 2010 = The Romeo Family, Valentines Day and Happy 30th B Day to Kira!!!

We gave a snowman who was looking a bit plain a banana hair do, bark eyes and nose and stick mouth...au naturale!

Kira's knee is already hurting and she is saying she is "falling apart"...welcome to the club! Thanks to Nicole and Mike for planning Tahoe birthday on the road - thanks for the birthday cake, the decorations, the necklace...and of course for the cosmopolitans!

Luke, Will and Jillian getting some R&R between play sessions...the fun times including jumbo balloons, glow sticks, bubbles, coloring...and building an indoor fort out of the couch, blankets and pillows.

New words to Will's vocabulary after this trip: tube, luge, Tahoe, macaroni, log (the one we were jumping off of into the snow), tough (because he was tough when he fell off the sled onto his cheek), glow, Cole for Auntie Nicole, Dodge for our rental car, Speaker (from the music that we danced to at the ice skating rink, and "dola" for the Gondola's we saw at the Heavenly ski area.

Our Olympian

We love watching the Olympics!! Cody recently cleaned out the closet under the stairs to turn it into a little hideaway for Will. He calls it his "cave." In the process, Will discovered our ski helmets and now he cruises around the house with a helmet on. He even has a few ski moves -we look forward to bringing him up to Alta next year!!

Valentine's Love

Will was spoiled like usual by Aunt Shann and Uncle John from across the street. We celebrated on Saturday because we were heading to Tahoe on Sunday the 14th. His morning started with a lollipop...yum.
Other gifts included this adorable "Time Out" chair...how can any mom give their kid a time out on that cute thing? And of course there were heart shaped sugar cookies with lots of frosting and 2 jars of black olives...Will's recent favorite.

Off to the Gateway with Uncle John and Aunt Shann and then to Rio Grande for delicious Mexican food where Will enthusiastically drank a cup of salsa.

The nightshift

Last night I was up from 12:30 to 4:00 am with my wild Will....and I actually feel pretty good so far this morning. Most of you know I NEED sleep, it's a curse I inherited from my Dad. But I had to write this post because I actually am amazed by my little boys imagination. He was crying soooo hard last night, is getting all 4 of his molars, and has a cold....so I thought OK this guy is hurting. I believe he needed comforting and I did just that for 3+ hours last night. In between laying on my chest and making little wimpering sounds he talked to me about Uncle Tom, cranes, snowmen, pipes, salsa, his shot he got last week and how Grandma hugged him, pillows, stars, dinosaurs and how they growl, and the fire alarm upstairs!!!!! That guys mind is always going and finally after trying to put him down for the third time I thought we have to do something different here. So I made up a story about how his favorite blue bear needs to go to sleep and how blue bear likes his blanket, etc. I basically talked the kid into sleeping. Sure enough he tucked blue bear in and slept until eight. Thanks to Cody for letting me sleep in until 10:00. So, yes, I will be working on my creative parenting and now blue bear will sleep with Will wherever we go!! I am off for a nap...who knows what tonight will bring!
